  • eBay Andy hunter hand-made cue

    Hi
I'm selling one of Andy's cues for him.
These excellently made cues rarely come up for sale. It's made from a 15 year old seasoned English ash Heartwood shaft and 45 year old ebony butt. It's well balanced and French Polished to a superb finish.
This is a high end expertly crafted cue.
I'm having trouble attaching photos but the cue is now listed on Ebay.

There's one in the Norman Clare Snooker Heritage collection at Thurston, Liverpool. It's a cue made from 80 year old Ash which he presented to them on a visit there.
This is the first of his cues that I've seen and it's up there with the best that I've had here. The cues are a labour of love for him which is why he's reluctant to sell them on.

It says in the letter he has been making cues for 30 years. How many has he made during that time? Only 3???

                  It does look good.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                  I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

i spoke to him earlier tonight but never asked it is many more than three though. 3 badged sounds more like it.

                        3 Badged.
I sourced these particular badges for him.
I'll email you later ADR. Andy did say that you had one of his cues. He thought that you'd sold it though. At least you can confirm that he makes a great cue

I can vouch for this cue.I've been on the end of several annihilations with it lol.I've also played a few frames with it.
The cue is definately one of the finest he has ever made, the pictures dont do it justice.
Andy makes cues the "old fashioned way" ie everything done by hand,no lathes etc.(how many people can say that?)
The best cue i ever had was a pear shafted cue made by Andy,it got snapped in a car crash,he said that was his best ever until this one came along!
Andy is considered by many as the worlds leading authority on antique cues so i would say this cue is built like an old cue such as a Ye Olde Ash type, thats what it reminded me of and like the listing says the splicing is absolutely perfect and the shaft is from the heart of the tree which is very hard to find.
Andy has made loads of cues,I've had some superb ones off him.He would say Tony Ions is the greatest cue maker of all and Tony passed on a lot of his knowledge to Andy.I met Tony through Andy.(he's very eccentric lol)
When Andy was younger he was a top amateur player, myself and his Dad thought he could of turned pro and would have made it big time!so he knows what makes a great playing cue.
Yes my opinion is biased because he is one of my best mates lol,but anyone who buys this cue will have one of the best ever made.
He has offered it to me a few times but i was always skint. This cue will fetch a lot of money!!!!
I am currently playing with a Andy Hunter cue(are you jealous lol)

                          Trev.
