Could Ja be let off premod to do the Lucky Dip for the UK Champs please?

I have to admit one of the best parts about this forum and what sets it apart from others is that discussions rarely deteriorate into childish arguments and personal insults like so many other internet forums

I think this is largely due to the administrators low tolarance for any of this type of negative behavior and really appreciate the great job they do in making the forum the great place that it is.

while 99% of the time i agree and appreciate the decisions to ban certian members in this case i don't understand why ja has only restricted access to the forum, from what ive seen (and i may not know the full story) she was a positive contributor to the forum.

the lucky dip contest she ran for the last tournament was good fun (moreso because i got selty ) and it would be great if she could run it again for the next one

I absolutely agree with forman above. I, as many of us have, have visited many other forums over the years and the level that some arguments go down to is so low it is laughable. TSF doesnt and I really feel that whoever we like/dislike on here for whatever reasons we can all safely say that we are all passionate about snooker and surely thats what counts.

If you were to be pre-modded or banned yourself just for disagreeing or annoying the admins in any way, than yes that would be a very bad sign indeed, and all your worst fears would be realised. But this hasnt happened, so things arent that bad ?

To be honest, the current ja.'s premod looks exactly like this. I saw the post (which is now deleted) after which ja couldn't post freely, and I didn't see much reason for any moderatorial action. She just joked about totlxtc's ban. Anyway, my strong opinion is that moderatorial actions should be carried out with a cool head, and I don't think in ja.'s case it was so.

Yep I'd agree, with this as well. Let the UK lucky-dip be sorted out properly, by someone that wants to put their time and effort into it. Otherwise certain people will think stuff-it - I've got better things to do be doing. I imagine they are quite a few attractive alternatives... anyway enough of that - I've digressed slightly. In the words of Del Trotter - you know it makes sense!

Roy... buddy, you know I have agreed with you on most things over quite a long period of time.
In this case I would as well except that in my own experience of unresponded-to PM's and forum posts
and those of others I have heard about... normal communications protocol with Ferret appears down.
That's why.

This observation comes to mind...
On a visit to the library I happened to notice a man and a woman.
Both appeared to be deaf, signing with intense gestures, apparently in a heated debate.
The man said something, and the woman seemed upset. She started signing her reply very fast,
to the point where the man couldn't understand a word; he also signed in big, wide gestures,
which is the equivalent of volume.
Finally, looking strained, her companion took her hands, "silencing" her.
Then he signed, very small and slowly, "You don't have to shout, I'm not blind."

running a happy forum is dam near imposable i ran a car forum for 3 years and at the end of that time all i was doing was worrying about upsetting people and trying not to ban/premod/ delete posts
in the end the site died because me and the admin team did not ban the trouble makers permanently all they did was bully and pick on the weaker members then when they were banned they would come back on there friends accounts and carry on upsetting people we would ban them too and they would come back on a proxy server open a new account and carry on. then things got really stupid and members of the admin team were beaten up at a car show the club was attending and there cars were damaged outside there homes (yes these dicks travelled 100s of miles to do this)
so the site was abandoned these muppets then started there own site and it now has only 20 active members just the trouble makers every one else has been banned or bullied off there
im for one glad theres a low tolerance to dumb ass behaver this site is run the way i should have run my car site just my pov

Don't you think - if this was the case - ja would not get any support from other forum members? Or you think we're all here troublemakers? In that case, I am sure ferret is not sleeping normally at all, because Ja is travelling thousands of miles to UK several times a year... What if her hand slips while holding something heavy and it drops on ferrets head?

Yes, there were some people on whose ban I do agree, but this one is just ridiculous. And our admin is so great at hiding all the evidence because that post for which ja was put on premod is deleted and many people didn't see it and so cannot judge for themselves whether there was grounds for a premod or not. So convenient way of silencing people he doesn't like.

Oh, and of course, this is the only forum where I had been put on premod ever. That was funny because I was a mod and could approve my posts myself. That was funny and strange. But maybe had a reason, I am such an aggresive person often offending forum people with my posts...
