Now seriously, I'm a mod myself on another forum and we are not tolerant at all regarding bullying or being abusive. But when we are forced to take some harsh action we always take care to explain why ... to the person and to the members (unless it's something touching privacy or interpersonal relationship)
That to me is a minimum when it comes to respect to people and freedom of speech.Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip

Im sure come their wedding night some years from now, Ferrett and Ja will look back at all this inappropiate posting, pre-mod and banning business, smile and say "why didn't we just say how we really feel?"

At the moment I see many members here who all bring something to the forum. There are fountains of knowledge here. If these people are pushed out then I feel it is "The forums loss".

As you all know, and thankfully tolerate, my posts usually go for a "different" point of view, verbally and visually.
This one is no different, so bear with me... just two things to consider...
Loss of a member...
1. We are seeing played out right here on these "pages" one of the crucial dramas of human evolution.
The one that allowed humans to rise to the top of the food chain like scum, I mean cream.
In the balance of nature all herds are culled... the youngest, the oldest, the weakest, the sickest, but always the slowest first.
Hunters being so much more intelligent than stupid animals go for the "Trophy" kill. Just like cops on the motorway go for the "fastest",
similarly in governments and other power structures, those who want to maintain control cull the most powerful dissenting voices.
This is the path to "extinction".
2. Imagine you know what "cancer" is. Imagine for a second you are a medical researcher and know what a "telomere" is.
Imagine you believe than human organizations are like organic, living entities and that every single part is essential to
the balance of the whole. Now, imagine that you are or I am or Ja is a "telomere".
...the loss of a single telomere can generate a variety of chromosome alterations commonly associated with human cancer, not only on a chromosome that loses its telomere but also on other chromosomes. Factors promoting telomere loss are therefore likely to have an important role in generating the karyotype evolution associated with human cancer.

Noel
Allow me to summarise for you Noel.
1. Ja did not come through the "survival of the fittest".
2. Ja is the "trophy kill".
3. Removing Ja will set off an inexorable chain of events, leading the forum to metaphorical cancer.
Comparing the internal events of an online snooker forum to evolution, human hunting habits, and the causes of cancer may seem melodramatic to some, but not me!
I totally agree with your sentiments.

But I disagree with you about Ja not being un-modded.
Ferret is surely clever enough to manage this "hostage taking" panic.
A "real leader" would admit their mistake [ see this thread about TSF being scammed...

and make points on "looking like a "good guy" by doing "the right thing, afterall".
FREE JA FERRET!
It's only common sense, right?!?
