  • More Moderators?

Now snooker has became a much more active sport than in previous years, I have noticed a massive rise in users on this forum, but with that comes spam posts.

At the moment, there's only spike and Statman as moderators.

Do you think the forum needs more than two to succeed?

    No poll attached?
And Hegeland is a moderator, as well.
Just a name that came to my mind at first.

I have, on occasion, messaged Ferret and Statman to advise that spam threads had been started, but sometimes these things can hang around for hours.

Having said that I'm not really aware of a problem that causes any degree of annoyance or aggravation.

Hegeland is fairly in-active though. I think a few more are in order.

Members like Mignon, muska and yourself would do a good job.

I don't usually come across serious problems that needs moderation.
However, if any necessity is out there, I'm sure Ferret will think of something to do as a precaution.

If that was directed at me, then I'm very flattered.

The number of moderators on the forum is just fine, every member of the moderation team has been chosen because of their activity and behavior on the forum and also the times of the day that they are active to cover most of the busy times.

When a problem is sent to the moderators by PM it does not get to us as quickly as the report button, when the report button is clicked and you fill out the comment box there is a thread created in the moderators section on the forum, a email is sent to me and a email is sent to the moderator of that section as the forum is split into sections for each mod to manage, some sections have their own dedicated section mod who will also be sent a email.

For every spam thread that you see there are 10 that you do not and there may be times when a few threads go unnoticed for a few hours when they are not reported, not is a popular section on the forum or no moderators are about at the time to delete the thread and ban the user.

I have used the report button that Kevin mentions several times and I can report that the problem has always been solved very quickly afterwards. Therefore, as far as deleting spam goes, I don't see the need for another moderator.
Nevertheless I am flattered by your picks. If, of course, by muska you've meant me.

Looked like it but the first rule of forums should apply. Those that covet the job should never be asked.
