Just checked out the 'forest style' which is close to the old one.
But after having turned the board a bit more greenish in style I couldn't reply while being logged on. vbulletin kept on telling
'New TSF forum located at www.TheSnookerForum.com/board'
Had to clear all cookies and remorsefully return in grey.

by the way, the avatars that are not exact 80x80 size are stretched... and the distortions don't look too nice...

Just to be clear - this isn't the permanent style of the forum. I'm working to bring the old style back at the moment (gingerale caught an unintentional glimpse, I'll re-enable it as soon as it's functional), and I believe ferret intends to improve the coffee style and possibly add other options. He's also working on getting the chat back.

Photos from the old gallery have not been deleted and they'll be back one way or another.

The upgrade was needed because, after 3 owners and server moves in as many years, the code was getting extremely messy and security was becoming a concern.

Hopefully the forum as it is is 'functional'. If anyone runs into any errors or other nasty behaviour please let me know. For now my main priority is the skin but these kind of bugs would take precedence.

I do apologise for the disruption we've caused. Thanks for everyone's patience. I'll try to keep you up to speed on what we're working on.

April - I noticed the avatar thing too. I'll have a look at that. (Edit: fixed)

Thankyou all for all your efforts in all this work. Sorry to harp on and be critical but i would like to "feedback" about the timing of all this work, which could hardly have been worse. I mean, did it have to happen right in the middle of the second biggest tournament of the season, during what should be a peak time for the forum ?

The 'viewing figures' or online user numbers speak for themselves. Much less than half of what they normally are during tournaments.

I'm great here, to be honest- nice, relaxing hues of blue and no glitches or avatar distortion. I'm happy (hope you're happy too...............!!) .

Hurry up Robert, on a 26" widescreen it's a pain reading the posts! And where are the country flags? I hope all this hasn't scared away all the members, there used to be 120+ people on during tournament weeks, now there's only about 25.

Oh well, guess I sound like a whiner now.

It doesn't help that there are little or no discussions as in today about the tournament!

Agree there. Seems the board has nearly deceased since the transformation.

I understand alterations had to be made, but why not keeping the normal, snookerforum.com name and the same layout as well. For an unexplainable reason it has put off quite some regulars.

I know I've been put off because of the difficulty reading the posts. Maybe that's kept some offline. I think the old design was good enough and a bit original, maybe I would have made the background white and removed the 'games' section but otherwise it was fine as it was. I hope they can bring it back soon (with better safety and the other things that apparently had to be fixed).

It's coming hege. I'm actually using the TSF skin at the moment, it's just taking a while because there are a lot of left over bits of old code in there. In all there are more than 4000 lines to check but I'm well over half way through now. I'll be done by Saturday morning, possibly earlier.
