I think this is one of the main reasons why we have many repetetive threads in the Cues section. People try to search with the word "cue". Search fails. A new thread is born.

Searching for topics like "cue care" , "cue used by xxxxx" are all difficult.
I will look into the server load on this and if it doesn't cause too much of a CPU drain then yes I will lower it to 3 characters for the search.

On the ask the cue maker question, why not just ask your question in the Cue section on the site, the only cue maker that is a member and will not answer is John Parris, I think because he is just too busy but when I have emailed him in the past to ask for his input on a thread about his cues he has signed into look and PM's the relivant member(s) with answers butt (sorry about that pun) not making a public voice.

On the question about ask the pro, well there are quite afew pro's on here and if you know who they are I am sure they would not mind a PM form anybody on the forum, but on this note I will ask a few of the guys on the main tour if they wouldn't mind answering your question and if they agree I will start up a section for you to ask them specific questions.

Thank you for taking this into consideration. I just thought that if we have an ask the cue maker section then more specalized topics can be found easier.

The cue thread consists of threads that are related to cues but not to cue making in particular.

I am thinking more along the line of asking about cue making, like techniques regarding splicing, finishing...rather than which tip is the best or what does everythign think of this or that brand or things like that.

Not to be taken too seriously (), but what about a big headline used when creating a new thread in the cue section (only in this section ) that would say something along these line:
Before hitting the submit button, ask yourself whether youĀ“ve used the search function sufficiently.

Customisable home page, for example to allow members to filter out forum sections they're not interested in from the recent threads list.

                        Vbookie.

Some larger, longer term things including new skins for TSF and the gallery and possibly a more prominent stats section.
I just want to ask whether these suggestions received green light or were dumped. Perhaps still in the process of thinking over?

No pressure, but curiosity got better of me.

Yes, a customisable page would be really nice, as thereĀ“s so many active threads and polls.
