  • all threads on the main page

I think ALL threads should appear on the main page. Threads about the World Cup and Le Tour de France are nowadays banned from the main pages. A lot of snooker fans are also interested in other sports certainly in a period there are no snooker events. If a thread is not interesting enough it will automatically desappear from the pages due to a lack of responses. Automatically banning threads to the dark pages is not very democratic.

A forum might be dedicated to a main subject, a sport, a hobby ... whatever it is still a place for social networking and that social aspect is essential to create a sense of community. Just like in office, conversations about every day's life, what we like and don't like, coffee ... all that helps people coming to know and appreciate each other.

I don’t think this has anything to do with democracy. It has to do with house cleaning and order and here opinions may be different. Which do we favour: tidily organized structure or lively involvement in the forum life. I’ve grown accustomed to the front page http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board/index.php and now the most important page has become this > http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board/forum.php . It may help navigation but it doesn’t show what is actually going on on the board so it is perceived as far less friendly. I have to agree with the above posters.

This is a snooker forum, you sign-up because you want to talk/read about snooker. Not about the World Cup or the Tour de France, anything to do with that is a bonus. I think this is the correct option.

Mr P, we are a community of snooker fans who cannot be defined by just one thing [our love for the noble sport]. That love has brought us together but there are many other things that keep us together. Live is rich and varied. The richer and more varied the more endearing and entertaining.

I still disagree. If you want to discuss the World Cup, I could give you about 3 links to seperate football forums. If you want to discuss Tour de France, I could give you 3 links to seperate cycling forums.I use all of them - this forum is for Snooker.

I agree with the majority. Most users of different forums post on different boards. The Internet Movie Database is a good example. The homepage consists of headlines and links to articles on TV and other media, not just films.

Thankfully you are not the one who decides what is allowed to be discussed here.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

Who decides? Ferret? If there are different views on this have a vote

On a different subject. How many times does someone have to get 1
                        month bann's before they are out for good? 4 , 5 .......?

I may well be wrong here, but are you referring to Noel by any chance ?? if so you should get your facts correct before typing drivel.
In Noel's own words speaking to me just after his ban
noel: for the record.... "his 4th ban since signing up" is complete bull****... I received a warning for telling someone to "f***off" but NEVER banned
