  • Email Notification - stopped

Two days ago my email provider (Sky) changed from Googlemail to Yahoomail, my email address not changed, but since then I have not received any email notification from TSF but I am from other forums (non-snooker related - loyal to TFS )
I have sent a support question to the provider but no reply yet.
Just wondering any one else has notice the lack of email notifications?
Or does anyone know if I need to change a setting somewhere?

    cheers

Dean, I'm also with sky and as of yet, I'm unable to receive any email whatsoever. Getting a bit pissed off with it. It's been like this since Thursday.

I can't get it on my iPhone or my laptop. I'm expecting some really important emails as well. Don't you just hate sky. If it ain't broke, why the hell try and fix it eh!!!! Sky probably only switched to yahoo mail to save about a quid a year!!!!

oh sorry you have been having major problems, have you phoned them?
It is only TSF email notifications that I don't get since the switch, I get emails from other forums as well as friends, etc.

the missus has email on her phone (I don't) and had to download the yahoo app to get it working again

Dean -- Did you check your spam folder? I've had the same issue in the past where the TSF forum address had been moved to the SPAM list of my email server (and I was not aware of it).

I keep my old Yahoo account for all the newsletters I have signed up for over the years and it is actually set as the email address for my own TSF account so all TSF notifications goto that address and the strange thing is that the last notification I have from the forum was last Monday!! which is very strange.

Can someone reply to this thread so I can see if I get a notification and I will log into the server to see what is happening with outgoing email from TSF.

                  OK where do I start.......

Yes there is a problem with TSF mail going to Yahoo at the moment, currently there are over 2,000 messages destined to Yahoo or ymail mailboxes sat in a Queue waiting to be delivered after initially being rejected.

This may take up to a week to resolve, the technical people at Yahoo are not exactly the easiest to deal with, if you don't send over 10 million emails a day you are not seen as a priority with Yahoo.

Were they delivered then rejected? Or simply never delivered to begin with?

Consider checking whether TSF domains (ie .co.uk and .com b/c of the glitch back in December) were somehow added to the blacklist of spammers by some mail servers. For instance I just checked my gmail and I do have a few TSF thread notifications from March 31st and April 3rd that went straight to my spam folder. But I also got other notifications in the regular inbox after April 3rd. Seems like something happened about a week ago.

Although I'm sure ferret already knows this but TSF is not on any blacklists.

I make sure that my mailserver is setup correctly to avoid being blacklisted after all we send out 3,000 emails a day and nearly triple that in January and April.

I found the problem with sending mail to Yahoo and we are working with them to try and resolve it, it is all down to our HELO settings or not as the case may be, Yahoo are reporting that the initial handshake between our servers is failing and they say it is due to my settings but I have checked and triple checked our setting according to Yahoo's guidelines and they are just fine so I have suggested to them that it is a problem on their end so they are looking into it further while I again go through my settings which have not changed since we moved to this server 12 months ago and the settings were based on our old server which was running fine for 3 years.

More news when I know it.

Email notifications are working but I noticed yesterday that my emails from TSF are coming in batches every 10 minutes.
Just to check what may be at fault:
                              1) TSF to Yahoo
                              2) Yahoo to my Sky account
does anyone else notice this batching from TSF into their non-Sky/Yahoo account, or anyone else with Sky notice this batching?
                              cheers
