  • Moderating frustration

Hello, I've been trying to post a reply over the past day with no luck at all, it really is quite frustrating trying to take part in the forums when you keep on getting a message to wait for your reply to get moderated and you check to see if it's on later yet it isn't and so you post again and still no luck.

I know you'll have loads on your hands but this has been the most frustrating forum I've been on so far and it has been slightly off-putting.

Until you get to 10 posts it can be a real pain as the moderation is in part automated - I believe. Also, the administrator is likely busy as we may be getting a big upgrade and there is probably a load of work around that to do. Once you get past the magic 10 post barrier you wont have any further issues. This 10 post thing apparently cuts out a lot of spam - so it's really of benefit to all of us, despite it being frustrating at first. We've all been there - so don't give up

Yes, my posts are not moderated anymore. I'm also new to the forum. After awhile (which I now know is 10 posts due to nrage's post above), your post don't get moderated anymore.

I don't know, sorry. Perhaps posting in a few more threads - not the sale/wanted threads and not the welcome threads as they don't count toward your post count. Once you reach 10 actual posts then you will reach the stage where you are unmoderated and all your posts will appear immediately.

I suspect the 10 post limitation is also a way to prevent people and spam robots using the forum as another gumtree/sale website, which frequent users don't really want/need.

Forums also need to guard against folk registering, setting up a for sale thread or two with email contacts and never returning or contributing to the board... Get a few general posts up and you won't be long in losing the moderation.

In the helpdesk or newbies section, your posts don't count

Likewise with sales/wanted sections, I think.

If you clicked "post" then it will show up eventually.
