Hi Guys,
It has been almost a week and my posts have still not appeared. It seems as if this is a common occurrence here based on some of the other new members having brought the same issue up in the past. Seems quite strange for such an active community. Is it due to a lack of manpower or technical issues? Is it likely that my posts have been lost in cyberspace?
Cheers
Laz

I appreciate your frustration Laz ... surely posts from new members should be approved (or rejected) in 24hrs at the very most (preferably much less) ...
Ferret, the owner of this forum, states all new members posts are moderated to eliminate spam from the forum ... which it does very effectively ... but the massive delay caused by moderation also puts off many new members from contributing and hence the forum as a whole suffers ...
I have said it before but I'll say it again ... if Ferret and the other moderators do not have the time to visit each day and approve posts by new members, then Ferret should appoint more ... I am not angling for the job but there are many valued long term members who visit daily and I'm sure would be pleased to help ...
It's hardly rocket science and I'd be pretty sure vBulletin (the forum software) must allow moderators to be appointed with permission only to approve new posts ...
In the meanwhile Laz, all I can suggest is patience ... I guess you can post (without moderation) to the Helpdesk (where this post is) and possibly to the Newbies and Intros forum ...
Thanks for the response Dandy. I have created new threads in the "newbies and intro" and "cue" sections which are yet to show up. I did test whether I could respond to an already existing thread and that seemed to work fine. I'm hesitant to participate as there is nothing more frustrating than taking the time to write a post, only to have it lost in cyber space or lose its relevance if and when it is actually moderated.
Anyway, I hope they appoint members such as yourself to help bring down the waiting time for post moderations; it is extremely prohibitive for new members and akin to being forced to watch the other kids play without being able to participate yourself. I really want to play. Here's to hoping my posts are approved sooner than later.
Thanks again Dandy
Can see about 9 posts but the number on the "post count" shows up as 3 so looks like the system is going to have to do a catch up. I can see your post about Andy Bream cue. Just keep posting and it'll sort itself out I'm sure. Posts in the "newbies" section don't count towards getting to the magic 10! Enjoy the Forum once you get sorted out.

to be fair to Ferret, he did post for volunteers not that long ago
I will address this in the next few days once I have some more free time but I have two new moderators............. the problem being that they are a tad hard to train as they keep fighting! see video below.
awww Ferret, they are cute ... and I'm not even going to speculate that they're the love babies between you and a well known cuemaker ... (I'll leave that to others LOL) ...
