I noticed something strange only this morning: I opened a thread before logging in, and I could read the whole posts in there without any restriction! I tried many threads, the same thing applied to all.
Then, when I finally logged in, the threads I had just viewed were not in bold anymore!
The restriction to read posts while not logged in has disappeared some time ago, Nina... but the threads should appear as unread when logged in, I think. (I am already scared to log out and check this, might not get back in )
I decided on one more try to catch the attention of the new owners just before it is bound to get real busy on here. Yay 4 more days!!!
So, to the new Gods of this forum,
could these issues maybe be ironed out before then???
But now into Philosophy: Are there any gods of the forum?
I copied the following from a relevant discussion (sounded kind of appropriate):
Has God Died? As to whether or not God existed in the past is open to debate. But is He here now? There is no indication that He is. No messages booming down from the sky, no miracles, no sign whatsoever. Why not? If He expects us to believe in Him, surely it is not asking too much that He gives us a sign every once in a while? Is it? To expect us to take it on trust for over two thousand years is asking a bit much. Perhaps He hasn't died, perhaps He can't, so where is He then? I suppose He could be busy elsewhere, making another universe or something. Doesn't seem very God-like to abandon us in this way though does it, we could use a little help just now.
I spoke with the new forum owners yesterday and they will be appointing a forum manager in the next few days, I am sure the problems with the forum will be sorted out then, but I can't see this happening before the world championship
Also the little window that pops up when you receive a PM - when you click Yes to read it in IE - it leads you to invalid URL error message. You can go to read it via the link to your PM inbox in top right corner.
Back to giving reputation: instead of getting the usual "Invalid URL" message, tonight I got this one: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: k_seo_thread_url() in /home/ronaleee/public_html/thesnookerforum/reputation.php on line 185". I am sure it was received however, because I tried a second time and got the good old "You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice".
It's wonderful that the green button works again, thanks!!
