Problems for me too

I am having problems accessing the forum too, looks like a MySQL problem you could go into PHPMyAdmin and select the option to repair database in my past experiance it clears up problems like this :-) Optimising may also help.

If it becomes more of a problem and there's a lack of solutions; it will discourage people from registering or continuing to post especially if basic things like posting is difficult. I wonder if the powers-that-be are in the throws of shutting it down or is it as Sonny says just the off season lull? But if there are eager members still posting and replying, you'd think we'd get some feedback still. fingers crossed. I can start a thread, and reply to other members' but not reply to the threads I start; as well as not view the homepage or play the games etc etc.

To refresh your memory Dave..... I emailed you (webmaster@thesnookerforum.com) on Thursday 26th of May with a full list of the problems this site is experiencing to which you asked 'what software and browser' I was using, to which I said....

Thanks, Windows XP sp2, all patches and security fixes, Norton Internet Security and MSIE6 128 bit cipher strength.

I've not added any Internet Security software since the problems have surfaced apart from Microsoft's AntiSpyware but after shutting this down the problems didn't go away. I us NIS to scan for viruses using NIS & spyware using NIS & Ad-Aware&Spybot.

The most recent problem is not being able to reply to the Big Brother thread I started; screen shots attached.

Also, when I receive an email alert to a post I'm subscribed to, sometimes when I follow the link, the new post isn't there; vanished.

I've even logged in using my laptop and have the same problems too; reset my password as well.

this was on Friday 27th May to which I never got a reply even though I took 6 screenshots totalling about half a meg of Jpegs and included these as attachments; I'm struggling to see what else I can do.
I've used a different computer, registered a dummy login to some functions and even risked turning all my Internet Security measures OFF including privacy and Firewall functions without success (dummy seemed okay) - now Ferret's experiencing problems too which supports the fact there's something wrong at the server or elsewhere away from the members' computers.

The current list of faults is ...

1. Home Page will not display; reasons given include that Admin might have disabled my account or I might not have sufficient privileges
2. I can't Reply to threads I've started
3. the Store is completely off-limits.
4. Pressing 'Links' tells me an errors occurred and Technical have been emailed
5. the Games display but I'm disallowed from playing them; even if I wanted to
6. I'm told my usergroup isn't allowed to use the shout box
7. Some of my posts don't display.
8. Can't donate my points to some members.
9. Following an email alert's link it bombs out sometimes.
10. Pressing 'Contact Us' fails.

If we can transfer points and post totals to a new login, would it be easier if I just chose a different username and went down that route?
