Ronnie in Hamm und heute Abend im WDR

Hab soeben im Internet gelesen, dass heute im Rahmen der Sendung "sport inside" ein wahrscheinlich etwas längerer Bericht über "The Rocket hits Hamm" kommt!!

Wann: 1. Dezember 2008, 22:45 Uhr bis 23:15 Uhr
Wo: WDR
Wdh: 2. Dezember 2008, 09:20 Uhr bis 09:50 Uhr

Es lohnt sich wahrscheinlich doch, die Dritten zu gucken.

Wie gesagt, ich glaube nicht, dass es die ganze halbe Stunde um ihn geht.

just watched it. it took about 10 minutes, pretty good for a report about a still quite unknown sport for the majority.
they showed a few parts of his fastest 147, he talked about his father and that there´s a bigger appetite and enthusiasm about snooker outside Britain and that he´s disappointed that he didn´t achive more in his career. The organiser also said that he had to pay 30,000 Euro to get him to Hamm but it was all worth it
But the commentator also said that this was his first time in Germany, who did the research and that he was drunk at that China Press Conference but denies any alcohol problem. Is it true that he was drunk? I always thought he said they were joking around

A few "facts" they cited were inaccurate ... as you noticed. He had been in Germany before, and I would be very surprised if he was drunk in China, having just played a match a few minutes before! No he was bantering, rather stupidly, in a press room not thinking about possible "active" mikes
As you said ... who did the research? I know Rolf Kald had offered them to help. No need they said.
People were there in the VIP room in Hamm when this was recorded and they said that the "doubbling" sometimes betrayed what Ronnie actually said. Maybe they just struggled with his "cockney" speak who knows? .
I also want to stress that he accepted to do this interview despite not being well at all that evening. Not sure about next time...

I'm not even sure Ronnie didn't want it ... his manager was looking after him quite closely and efficiently and tried to protect him from too much hassle and pressure during the whole event but particularly that evening. Quite rightly so as Ronnie really wasn't well. It was obvious for all to see before the matches. I think the outstanding welcome he got from the crowd really helped him in putting a good performance there. For sure it touched him and he wanted to give the audience his best in return.

Die sendung vorher "Miss Leipzig" 20 Jahre spaeter war interessanter!

Sie wollten wahrscheinlich die verschiedenen seiten von Ronnie zeigen, deshalb das China Interview. Die eine Seite = Snookergenie, die andere Seite = Rüpel

Normalerweise hat die Vergangenheit im Sexshop auch nichts mit Hamm zu tun...

Verstehe, aber Das Turnier sollte im Mittelpunkt stehen, nicht nur Ronnie. Faux pas, wie Die Franzosen sagen. Erstaunlich jedoch Die Grosse Beteiligung der Zuschauer.
