i have just looked at this thread again after starting it several months ago, and i see there is more fascinating stuff about the legend that is Walter Lindrum, the debate as to whether other players, in effect only Davis and Smith were actually catching up to him I can only speculate, but i 'feel' that although Davis and Smith knew all the shots so to speak, they simply could not match Walter's phenomenal speed of scoring.
what actually happened to Walter after 1934 would be interesting to know, as on the face of it he seems to have gone in to a sort of 'one player' world? i do not think he played any serious competitive matches after that but i may be wrong?
coming soon Walter's secret.
