Does anyone play Billiards here?

That's the traditional English billiards I'm referring to.

I'd be interested to know if anyone plays.

Where can I find a complete, up-to-date list of the rules?

Does anyone have any tips on how to go about playing (ie, tactics, strategies for getting high breaks etc.)

I'm aware of the basic principles but am interested in playing this 'properly' rather than just smacking the balls around the table williy-nilly and hoping to score a couple of points here and there.

Any help with regards to strategies for playing this old game would be appreciated. I'm looking to play a bit as it may help my snooker.

There are a few members that play Billiards, I am sure they will see this post and reply to you.

I know of one member inparticular that plays in a league but you won't get hold of him at the moment!!!

You know Chris !!
He goes on quite often to see whats happening , but with the site not being that busy he doesn't stay on all day like he used to . Billiards needs more people playing it .

You say it! It's a great pity that general billiards demography of last 100 years has relegated e.billiards a bit to the fringe. In UK should exist the biggest rivalry cause of snooker. But maybe also its a publicity problem. There are more players than a watcher would suppose. Asian confederence now nearly exclusively reports on snooker. Surely there are masses of snooker players, but also a lot of billiards and american pool ones.
