Fake Nonpareil on ebay

There is a fake Lindrum/McConachy "Nonpareil" on eBay at the moment. You can tell immediately the badge is printed and the screws are in the wrong position. Very sloppy workmanship from whoever it trying to "cheat" people. I HATE FAKE CUES!!!
The seller has a couple of other cues listed that may also be fake.

The seller is/was a member on here and a well known cue seller, i'm sure he is not an expert on old cues.
The Ye old ash is written up as a Glover rep isn't it ?

Difficult subject this.

I have a Ye Olde Ash cue replica made for (and sold by) a billiards champion.

The cue is really nice, plays well, lots of arrows but is a replica. It doesn't say it on the badge but was sold as one.

Eventually, I'm sure all the decent replica's made to order will be out in the public domain after being sold and that's where the difficulty will start.

I'm sure some of the replica's will fetch more money than the genuine cues as some will be better made.

The problem isn’t with replicas made by cue makers, those are probably more valuable than originals and they look like modern cues. The problem is any old handspliced plain ash cue @ £40 + YOA badge £30 = 400 cue.

There was a spate of that going on a few years ago but i think tony will not sell you a a badge any more so for most people it would now be tricky

badges can't be that hard to come by surely. reg wright makes his own version with similar badges but himself named as the maker. Assuming he's not sourcing badges from Tony they can't be that difficult to get hold of.

to make the badge well enough to fool a collector it needs to be either tony ions or tony glover I think.

Correct, I should have looked at the other cues before suggesting they may be fakes.
The YOA is listed as a Glover. The Newman is ok.
