  • Live TV broadcast of The Norwegian 9-ball Challenge confirmed!

The Norwegian 9-ball Challenge, 12-15 july in Olso, featuring players like Ronnie O'Sullivan, Raj Hundal, Mika Immmonen, Marcus Chamat, Imran Majid, Tony Drago, Neils Fejen and Oliver Ortmann as well as other players from around the world will be shown on Norwegian TV2, live on Friday 14 july from 13.00 to 20.00 (BSE) and on Saturday 15 july from 13.00 to the end. It will also be available via TV2 webTV for the rest of the world.

A so far unnamed betting company will also probably broadcast every match played on the TV-table, but the picture quality will probably not be as good as TV2 webTV.

Here is the link to the webTV: http://webtv.tv2.no/webtv/

You have to register (it's free): http://webtv.tv2.no/webtv/mywebtv/register.do

    Handy word list:

    Brukernavn - user name
    Epost - email
    Passord - password
    Bekreft - confirm
    Fornavn - first name
    Etternavn - surname

Apologies for bad written English, I had to rewrite the whole darn thing since I had been logged off while writing it!

betandwin.com is the one. Don't know about the picture quality though, it might be as good as TV2. They will broadcast matches from day one to the final. It's free, all you have to do is register, you don't have to pay anything or do a bet.

Oh, and I hope this is not classed as advertising!

          Thanks hegeland. I'll be watching.

And as a rule of thumb, if you're not promoting your own interests, it's not advertising on TSF.

WOW!!! That information is like Gold Dust to pool fans!!! Thanks Hegeland.

Do you think Ronnie O'Sullivan, arguably the most talented human being to ever hold a cue, can beat the experienced professional 9-Ball pool players at their own game?

It's really difficult to say. I think it depends on how much he has practised and prepared for this. I don't think he can beat the best players. But he might be able to progress quite far (quarterfinal?) in this competition though, since top players like Efren Reyes (probably even more talented than Ronnie!), Bustamante, Archer and Wu aren't participating.

You sound like you may be playing in this yourself... Good luck if you are?

No, I am not participating myself, had a thought about it but decided I wasn't good enough and didn't have the time to prepare either.

                    Group 13
                    Oliver Ortmann, Germany
                    Jan Terje Øyen, Norway
                    Arild Kråkvik, Norway
                    Trond Larsen, Norway
                    Lars Harald Riiber, Norway
                    Kent Halldin, Sweden
                    Jorg Wilhelmi, Holland
                    Christoffer Magnusson, Sweden

Easiest group for one of the most dangerous players in this event, in my opinion he will be relatively relaxed and in good shape and well seeded after the group stage and will be prepared to do some damage in the knock out stages.

                    Group 16
                    Martin Correia, Portugal
Jasmin Ouschan, Austria (better than ever before)
                    Vesa-Ville Virtanen, Finland
                    Said Alavinasb, Norway
                    Ronnie O´Sullivan, UK
                    Mubarak Al-Junaibi, United Arabic Emirates
                    Mahmut Mutto, Sweden
                    Joakim Haugen, Norway

No doubt in my mind that Ronnie is in the "group of death" and although he will definitely qualify, he could have asked for a more pleasant start to his campaign.

Thanks for the credit, and I'm glad you like the fact that I work very hard top get all tournament information at Pro9.co.uk first, but I would prefer if you could refrain from linking directly to my downloads.

Roy Steffenson from the Norwegian 9-Ball Challenge provided me with an enormous 550kb .pdf file, so it zaps my bandwidth by half a megabyte each time someone clicks, and if they haven't even visited my web site to do it - they don't see my adverts and I get no benefit from hosting the file!

I love people putting links to the Pro9 homepage:

                            http://www.pro9.co.uk

Or if you want to be more specific please direct them to the article where the download is hosted, in this case here:

                            http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=123

And please feel free to use short quotes from our articles and then add a link showing where the rest of the article can be obtained.

Sorry to be a pain, but it slows my website down if people are downloading all the time, and there's no gain for me if I never see the traffic at my site.

Please don't think I'm annoyed, I appreciate that you were being complementary and thank you very much for your kind words!

                            All the best,
                            Big Dave.

I didn't clue into the hegeland's link - yes linking to a pdf is a bit taxing on someone else's site.

hegeland, can you update your post to reflect the post on BigDave;s site rather than a direct link to the download? People may also not realize that it is a file they are downloading.

                              Thanks!
