I'm in New York. Apart from actually flying to Las Vegas, is there any way of following the coverage from here (perhaps online)? Don't think we get Eurosport.

It is broadcasted by OLN (Outdoor Life Network) in the USA... very good coverage I guess...

a snooker player plays pool??lol..i dont think he makes it..its 9 balls..1 mistake..then ull lose..sometimes u even have no chance to touch the ball..ronnie is gonna go home early..white and hann got chance to go further..

hes not good in pool..his performance was bad when he lost to wu chia ching(that world champion from taiwan)..i used to watch white played pool and hes good..beside ronnie is the snooker player that i hate the most..when he played against ding junhui in premier league..hes so arrogant and look down junhui..changing to left hand many times when he shot the ball and so many acting.he thought that he could overcome junhui easily..in fact..he almost lost to junhui at that time..

i think ronnie will just beat 1 or 2 players.. then go home..prepare for the new season.

its not easy to adapt to smaller table and play only 9 balls..its like a football player plays in indoor soccer..u know what i mean?i think the snooker player can only beat few unfamous pool players..but if they play against top players..like efren reyes,fransisco bustamante,wu chia ching, the odd is 5:1.same as pool players too if they play snooker.dont expect too much in snooker players in this tournament..

i hope someday.. all top snooker players will play and win in this tournament to prove that snooker is the best among all!!!!! viva snooker!!long lifeee...

I'd tend to agree with Matt, a few of the top pool players have revealed that they've had centuries trying their hand at snooker, but that's not saying much at professional (or even competitive amateur) level. They certainly wouldn't be able to translate their skills as easily and step into semi-pro level play as Ronnie and others have done from snooker. That's not to say they're less talented, but snooker is a step up in terms of cueing, potting and safety that'd be very difficult to get into as a long time pool player.

There's also the point that there's historically been more money in snooker, so maybe that's enticed more talent out of the clubs and onto the pro circuit, whereas in pool some of the best potential talent has stuck to its day job (not that this doesn't happen in snooker to some extent).

Anyway, without wanting to veer too far off topic, Ronnie won comfortably if unconvincingly against the Frenchman last night, 8-5. Ronnie led 1-0 and 4-1 but when Vincent levelled at 4-4 and 5-5 it looked like experience might be starting to tell. Vincent though missed a few (shockingly) easy pots and Ronnie capitalised.

The highlight for me was Ronnie's 'snooker' shot in the first rack, getting from his last ball to the 8 with a three cushion positional shot off a longish pot with side, and finishing perfectly. You could say a pool player might never have worked himself into that mess in the first place, but it was still good to see.

i believe in ronnie but i dont believe in arrogance when he is playing..his look-down-on-opponent face really make me sick...lets see how far he can go.

Just saw the last few frames of Ronnie's last game. Happy that he is through. Strange game this, no refs, the player rack and score by themselves. You hear them talking. Quite interesting. You could see, that Ronnie had to think much more than in Snooker, which seems to come more natural for him.
Btw. Mugello, I didn't see arrogance at any time
