  • 8 Ball Pool Table cusion height.

I have recently recovered my table with a very fast speed cloth. I noticed if the ball is played a bit hard on the cushion it bounces just a bit of the slate. I have looked a all sorts of sites but could not find the correct height the cushion rubber should be.

Only 9 ball has a spec but those balls are bigger.

Could anybody give me advise on this matter.

      It's about 3cm or just under 1 1/2 inch.
I forgot to take a tape measure though so will get a more exact figure again.

my table measures 36mm to the top of the cushion from the playing surface and doesn't bounce the balls excessively.

My cushions are 34mm; slate - cushion nose. No issues with jumping balls.

My table cushions are 3cm to the bottom of rubber and 4 cm to the top of the rubber, no bouncing balls, but i remember when i changed to this table how i misscued off the cusions a lot at first, i am convinced my cusions are higher at the top than my last table and local leauge tables !

there is a formula on some website that can be used
                12 x 6 snooker table cushion height is 38.25mm
                7 x 3-6 pool table cushion height is 37.08mm
                BUTT
most manufacturers just use what ever timber is available (35mm wood + thickness of cloth)

On our American tables we use 2/3 the diameter of the ball. Can't imagine that being very far off for your use.
