How long do you keep a bit of chalk?

My bit of chalk has worn right through and out the other side. Now I've taped around it and started on side.

Seriously is there a time when you should chuck a piece away ?

And just get another brand new one out of the draw that contains millions of them.

I used to keep it until i couldnt hold it anymore, but now, as the nice people at Rileys put two new pieces on the ball tray everytime i play i use it until i have put a nice pattern across the top. So one 6 hour session pretty much.

until i forget to put it in my cue case at the end of a session and it ends up going through the washing machine in jeans pocket.

Until i crush it in my chalk pouch accedently or in fustration

Hate starting on a new block of chalk so I usually replace em when they start to become awkward to use.
