I now use a pouch purchased from aurora cues and I find it much better as I never lose the chalk and of course never damage my trousers.

LOL, force of habit... That happens to me too. There was a time when I wore contact lenses and sometimes found myself trying to push my glasses higher up my nose when they were not there!! Felt downright silly... haha.

Guys! I do believe that chalking the cue is part of the rhythm of the player and whether one lodges the chalk in the hip pocket or waist coat pocket or the mag holder, reaching and applying the chalk should be reflex in the action [-] I have been playing the game since well nigh 41 years and hopelessly lost at the table if my pant does not have a right side hip pocket! On second thought my action is so mechanical that when i put the chalk in to the pocket the chalking side is downwards! Any way mag holders are individual preference and I hope the point I made is correct; or is it? Vish

I will be getting myself a chalk pouch pretty soon, at the moment i just pop it in my hoodie pocket (i'm not a chav btw :-) ) or the back pocket of my jeans, but its a PITA with jeans on as they are pretty tight :s when i also have my phone, fags, lighter, wallet, loose change etc.

i would never opt for a magnetic chalk holder mainly due to the stick we used to give the oponents who constantly "clicked" theirs every shot!!!

After years of nagging from the wife about chalk stained pockets I bought a magnetic holder and find it quicker and easier.
If you wipe the chalk on your tip (as you should) rather than screw american pool style you will find some of the holders come too far up the chalk side. Mine is made by Peradon and used a metal clip which was not too intrusive. However, after several pieces of chalk the bend in the metal clamping the chalk weakened and snapped when fitting new chalk!! Now stick metal to base of new chalk every four weeks with araldite!!
