  • Finally I have managed to screw :-) [draw]

Thanks to this snooker video. All the pool players seem to have closed bridge but I don't.

Open bridge, 52inch cue and works a treat.

On club tables screw shots can be very inconsistent due to the conditions. The make/condition of the balls, the cloth, the temperature, etc.. all these things have an effect.

But ultimately, this shot is about timing. Your cue grip should be completely closed at the instant you strike the cue ball. A split-second either way and you won't get the optimum action on the ball. O'Sullivan, Trump, Robertson, amongst other, are masters of this.

I forgot to mention Jimmy White! Possibly the greatest "screwer" of all time. No innuendo intended.

52inch cue ? maybe the cue Is too short and prevent you from getting enough backswing , so the speed of the shot
when screwing is not as ideal as it should
try with another cue if possible to see if there's any difference

Yup, unless you are very "short", a 52inch cue is rather small....can't develop a lot of cue action with such a short stuff.
