  • My first post...levelling a Supreme Winner pool table

    Hi,
My first post on this forum....
I am attempting to level a Supreme Winner pool table which is brand new.
I have the table level end to end and corner to corner is not too far out either.
However , I cannot work out why when I run balls down each rail (top to bottom, bottom to top), the balls pull off the rail by around a half ball to full ball by the time the ball reaches the corner pockets.
I have been reluctant to pack the centre of the slate on the cross members but have tried this and it has made some improvement.
Any thoughts on overall approach and opinions on packing the centre to off set this roll would be welcomed.

    Thanks
    Cavingaz.

what are you using to level it, standard spirit levels are not good enough, sure this has been mentioned before somewhere on here

don't bother levelling snooker tables... waste of time
Billiards is very similar to snooker.... except there are only 3 balls and no body watches it. :snooker:

I have a Supreme Winner which is about 6 yrs old. Got it from new and the slate was a piece of crap to be honest. I hated it from the moment it was installed. Nothing wrong with the set up (spent a fortune on the extension/concrete floor/lighting/sound system), it was the slate. It rolled into the cushions from all over the table and was particularly bad in the baulk area. This was despite re-clothing it 3 times and loads of attempts to pack it. Eventually, I scrounged an old broken Supreme table from a snooker hall. Took the old slate off and used that. Sold my new slate on ebay. It's brilliant now. The slate can move a little with packing despite people saying that you can't bend a piece of slate. You can, just a little. They're only 3/4" thick.
You can also have a badly clothed slate as well. If the cloth isn't stretched evenly/ slightly twisted maybe, it can cause a bit of roll off.

              I'm not using levels.
Setting 4 balls on a rail and pushing a ball onto them to judge the roll. I have done this on all rails and the main issue is the ball pulling away from the rail up and down the length of the table.
When I do the same on the top and bottom rails the balls run true into the 4 corner pockets.
              Thanks

Sounds like the slate has sagged in the center of the table, pack it up in the middle under the slate - My supreme did exactly the same.

Ooops noticed you tried that... mine took quite a lot of packing. Also I've seen tables where the cloth has been spray glued to the table with so much that it rolls in. Worth checking that if it's coming off the rails, should be able to feel it under the cloth.
