Hi. I have a Trevor White cue that I use for pool. It is absolutely perfect apart from the tip being slightly too big at 9.2mm. I would prefer slightly lower than 9mm. I am worried that getting it altered will ruin the cues finish. The closest cue makers to me are Mastercraft. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never thought I'd say it but when it comes to all things snooker, I wish I was a Jock"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it." - Henry Ford

Doesn't really help much being a Jock! We still struggle finding places to buy cues or have them repaired. If you're in the Glasgow area then it's not so bad but go east and North then most of us are in the same position as you, ie, buying remotely and having to post off cues for repair. For repairs I've used Wilshaw, Mastercraft, Craftsman and Reg Wright in Hull. It's the postage that makes it expensive IMO.

I can highly recommend Glover cues . Tony does all the work for my team mates ( Trent Trophies & Afford ) that I can not do, including , thinning/ re-tapering ferrule and tips to 8.75mm , close to what you want, which two of my team mates had done , no regrets .As you know Stoke - on - Trent is a pool hotbed ( see previous posts ) and I have met other league members in Tonys workshop as well.It is only 41 ish miles from my house, easy to find and Tony is easy to deal with and reasonably priced . I can usually get a new ferrule and tip , without too much re-tapering , done on a " while you wait basis " for a crisp ten pound note , takes about i/2 hour and there is a coffee shop on site to wait in .I would suggest a quick drive across , phone first to make sure he is in , to at least discuss what you want done and its viability. Hope this helps.

Not a problem . I pick up the A50 , drop off at the A511 , bypass Tutbury , straight through Burton and out through Overseal .Takes me about 1 1/4 hours. The quickest way is A50 , get off at A38 junction , down to Repton , and pick up the A511 at Midway .Google Earth or Sat Nav should guide you easily enough.I am never in a rush , so I just go down through Burton and over the river , longer , but a nicer route.Do you play for any local teams , EPA , might see you out if you do. PM me if you want any more info.
