  • PFW to leave the WEPF and EEPF

It's just been announced on Facebook by Wayne Smith that the PFW will withdraw from the WEPF and EEPF because of George Harwoods alleged wrong doings and corruption in the EPA.

It's all above my head a little, I don't know enough about it to really comment but I know Wayne reasonably well, he is a very honourable bloke and if he feels it's worth standing up against then there must be a good reason.

It looks like the old brown stuff is about to hit the fan! It certainly does need a good shake up.

Pool in Wales is in a desperate state at the moment, the WPA have virtually folded, they only really run County now and the PFW will no longer be affiliated to a governing body.

Sad to hear about this , although I had heard that rumblings of discontent had come from the PFW . I noticed a post on the WEPF website dated 4th February and thought this might happen. Political divisions and internal bickering are doing to pool what it did to darts , sad day indeed.

PFW - Pool Federation of Wales
            WPA - Welsh Pool Association
WEPF - World Eightball Pool Federation
EEPF - European Eightball Pool Federation
            EPA - English Pool Association.

Yes it's all one big mess at the moment. Of course I hope it all comes crashing down, and then a phoenix rises from the ashes with one honourable governing body and one set of rules. Unfortunately I think there is very little chance of it happening, too many people making too much money and they wont give that up easily.

As for pool, we are lucky in Scotland to have Ross McInness as promoter, everything Ross does is for the players and the game, he has worked tirelessly to try to unite the game in Scotland under one set of rules and has almost succeeded. That's what the game needs, as long as there is more than one rule set, it has no chance.
