    Rules

many of my WR team play BB league on different nights
they do say they prefer BB
I only play on night and local so that is WR
the two rules that I prefer from BB that I would have included in WR is
    1. Deliberate foul should be loss of frame
    2. Combination shot should be allowed

If these were included in WR then the only difference between the two (IIRC) would some of the colour deciding rules

Those are the main reasons why I don't play WR.

Gotta chip in on this one!

DFs can be annoying, but then again they add a tactical dimension to someone's gameplay. It's only recently I've realised how useful deliberate fouls are; if you're yellows and it's touching ball behind the black so it's 1/8" away from the pocket, your only option is a deliberate foul or give away 2 visits and, 8 times out of 10, gift the frame to the opponent.

Now I'm not 100% on what combination shots are; is it like in American pool where, as long as you hit your ball first, you can pot the opponent's without penalty? If that's the case then it eliminates tactical play like pocket covering which is necessary in the above scenario. I'm sure you know this one exception, but because I've had my head in the rulebook I'm gonna boast anyway . If you are foul snookered on the black and you nominate their red, you can pot both the black and the red in any order and any pocket and win the frame

          Couldn't resist, my bad :')

yep, that is the combination shot, or skill shot my mates call it.
there is always two sides to the DF, I am on the side that it promotes negative play, and in all the years I have play WR I think I have only played 6 DFs myself as a last resort (and I have been playing WR for many many years )

no! not unless I'm going mad

with Blackball rules, a combination (aka skill) shot is when you hit one of your balls first and pot one or more of your balls, then it's OK to pot one or more of your opponent's balls in the same shot ...

but if you hit one of your balls first but only pot one or more of your opponent's (but none of your own), then that's a foul ...

you are correct, you hit your ball first, and you can pot an opponent's ball AS WELL AS potting at least one of your own in that same shot, is a legal shot. There is no timing involved, as in "your ball must pot first",etc.
sorry maybe I miss ready tommydale's post.
