Hi im new to the forums, i am an english 8ball players i play in area conpetitions amd so on but recently i have started to progress skill wise and starting to think my baracuda blue 57" with a 8.5mm tip isnt up for the job and would really like to get a one piece with simular tip size as all my other team mates have but when i ask them where theey got them from they all say ebay for £50-60 on the auctions but when i look my self there is nothing there any ideas on what cue to get i dont mind getting one tapperd down to a slightly smaller size just trying to find the right cue for 70-120 is a nightmare

is there anything specific that the cue doesn't do for you anymore?
    what has changed?
how long have you been playing with this cue?
I new cue may not help you and could even be worst for you.
welcome to TSF by the way.

Its just rubish its got dents in the shaft from me stupidly letting other people use it and its slightly bent and just dont like it anymore, ive had it about 8months now and just want a more professional cue because i think it will boost my confidence in playing shots and not having to hold it in a certain way to miss the dents

understand totally been there myself years ago
firstly I would say there is no such thing as a professional cue (even if the advert calls it as such :wink
you have mass produced cues, you have custom cues; machine spliced and hand spliced cues
        etc. etc.

the best for you would be to find a place where you can play with cues to find a cue you like
personally for uk pool I would recommend a 3/4 cue with (hopefully) the mini butt that can be added to the shaft as well for those tight pubs

3/4 is easier for transport as well especially with all the team mates bundling into a motor for the away matches
hopefully some one will come on with local knowledge with where you can go :crossfingers:

what are you looking for? maple ash?
57" 8.5mm but what weight range you prefer?
there are those on TSF that may have something that could interest you.

I prefer the feel of a heavy cue but play better and more consistant woth a lighter cue and as for wood im not really fussed, i would like a 8.5mm tip again as im used to the ball controll with it
