Oh, and Charlie Williams must be the slowest player EVER, he's up and down, looks and measures, goes back to his chair to clean his cue, measures some more, looks at it from a fourth angle, chalks a bit, up and down, back to the chair, another clean, some more chalk, down on the shot again and of course misses by a mile...
elvaago - the breaks have been easy all week, and he got good ball run, along with playing well a good performance, but he wasnt playing amazing, especially compared to some matches ive seen him in
Just like Ronnie played rubbish against Carter? ;-)
erm, no
i said he wasnt playing amazing. he was playing well. the winner breaks format also makes it easier, and if youd watched all of it youd see the breaks very easy this year too, so that, coupled with a good ball run here and there meant he didnt need to play at his best. not in any way similar to ROS. sorry
bit long in the tooth for that....ive been around too
if someone posts something thats wrong, or i disagree with, i reply. i dont sit back going, oh he or she will say they were fishing for bites. that way folk wouldnt post much.

I heard there was some controversy over the Bustamante-Peach match???
yepp the score was 10-9 to bustamante and the first to 11 was the winner and Bustamante thought he had won the quarter-final when the 9-ball dropped into the pocket with the score at 10-9 in his favour. But Rees the referee immediately asked for the decision to be reviewed as he thought Bustamante had hit the 9-ball first, instead of the 3-ball he was originally aiming for.
Slow-motion television pictures showed that this was correct and that the cue-ball had brushed the 9-ball before contacting the 3-ball and then sending the 9-ball into the pocket.
However, Bustamante refused to accept the decision and World Pool Association Sports Director Thomas Overbeck was called in to adjudicate. After lots of arguin the ref checked the slow motion and It was a foul.. it just connected with the nine ahead of the three. Bustamante had to just accept this decision.. peach won the frame and then won the last frame to get to the semifinal..
I haven't watched the match yet but Bustamente played a 3-9 combination to win the match 11-9 but the referee said he hit the 9 ball first. Bustamente walked out of the arena but the Tournament Directors decided the referee made the right call.
Peach made it 10-10 and then with boos ringing out he also won the next to win 11-10.
What happened was Bustamente snookered himself on the 3, so he went for one cushion escape, and the result at least looked like he hit the 3 and cannoned the 9 into the top right corner pocket with the cue ball, which will let him win the match. What happened was that Rees saw the cue ball hit 9 first however he did not call out the foul immediate (he want to make sure it's a correct call), instead he said alone the lines of "wait a second, can we bring up the video" after the 9 ball went into the pocket, which at this stage, both Bustamente and the crowd are already celebrating.
After replaying the video many times and even frame by frame a decision has been made and foul is called, which Bustamente did not agree with and eventually both Rees Tabb and someone else all decided it is a foul, and it seems play has resumed.
However Bustamente still seems not agree, maybe arguing if Rees has followed the proper procedure of calling a foul and insisted to see the tournament director. The match then suspended for a while and finally both Bustamente and Peach resumed the match, and Peach went on to win the match.
And somehow this was the first shot I saw today after I loaded sopcast, what a drama.
