The nick I suggested just popped to mind thinking about Ken, his past... his future.
Your question helped me examine the connections and associations that may have caused "Doc of the Baize"... (I know... I'm wierd but well-meaning)

Firstly, his name pronunciation is different in UK than here I think...
We usually sound it as Door itty or Doh Her Tea... not Dock Er Tea

Secondly, his space, Ken's domain is the "baize" pronounced bays

We all wonder, given his slipshop results of late, whether he will retire sooner than later... (I hope he doesn't).
