  • R.I.P. Denis Law

The last of the trinity to pass, a truly great all round player who was knackered by a knee injury and a botched operation in the '67-'68 season and from then only operated as a striker, but what a striker he was. Couldn't train come the end of his career as it took all week for his knee to recover from a match and Tommy Doc offloaded him to City for free and that cost them. He will always be remembered by those of us who saw him play, makes the shower at UTD today look decidely fourth division.

I went to Arsenal's Highbury Stadium a lot in the early to mid 80s, the best footballing performance i saw from any team during that time was Man Utd's visit in September 83, played Arsenal off the park, I remember Arthur Graham cutting in from the right firing a shot left footed beating Jennings all ends up but it hit the post, all pure class.

Lots of faces in the north bank that i didnt see before, slowly dawned on me that they were fans from the 60's and came to watch the very style that you're talking about.

DL was before my time but i get your meaning, RIP.

The King. 30 goals for Scotland. I remember him playing in the 1974 World Cup versus Zaire. He was at the end of his career by then. He was trying his heart out to try and score. Sadly didn’t manage.
