are you fitting your Shark Series with those new joints? I played for 3 or 4 years with a £20 Cannon Scorpion which I won't criticise at all (apart from the varnish which I recently took off) and I still use that one very effectively for UK 8ball pool ...
at the beginning of last December I bought a "Welsh Dragon" from Welsh Pool Trading (£100 or so) which I use for snooker and I love that too ...
but I still hanker after one of your Shark cues ... and it's my birthday soon
no not at all loopy ... if you mean I'm looking for a freebie or discount from the great MW, I'm far too old and wise, rumour has it he's tighter than a duck's proverbial ...
what I'm saying is I love my Cannon Scorpion which was my one and only cue and still is my cue for UK 8ball, now I love my Welsh Dragon for snooker ...
I'm very happy with both those cues but I still hanker after one of Mike's Shark series - maybe it's just because they are top-notch cues from one the world's best cuemakers for less than £200 ... same quality of work as I understand it but "butterfly spliced" and hence cheaper ...
on the other hand, I personally don't hanker after say a JP - I'm not being rude to JP and I see lots of his cues playing UK 8ball - very very nice cues but are they worth £500+
I've tried both my Scorpion and Welsh Dragon for UK 8ball ... slightly prefer my Scorpion to be honest ...
but it's when it's snooker, the difference shows, my WD is clearly better and an MW Shark might be even better ...
although that's not to say I pot loads more balls, it's not the tip on the far end of the bat you need to worry about - it's the tit at the other end!
