Mines not a crt, its an lcd from about 9 years ago When i get my hands on some acrylic im gunna rip the beige casing off and put some leds so only the sides are illuminated. i think your me in a few years time lol. I can program in c., c++, visual basic, assembler, matlab, pascal, VHDL. I also have a 6" LCD showing system temperatures next to my monitor. I think 3.5GHz and 250gb hdd is enough though
I have blue cathodes and LED wire in my case too.

        Right here we go then;

        Hex (God remember that)
        pascal
        Visual Basic
AMOS (Amiga, yeah I know its old but its great)
        HTML
        Perl
        PHP
        mySQL
        AJAX
        XML
        Javascript
        Java
        Ruby On Rails
CSS <--If you can call that a language, I would put that in the same basket as XML, XSLT, XHTML and HTML to be honest
        Some Cold Fusion
        Some ASP
Some Delphi <-- but that was long ago

I think that is about it, I would of put Actionscript up but I am crap at it, just not got the attention span

And ferrets back in the running

I did delphi long ago but didnt put it because ive forgotten it all. And actionscript i wasnt bad at either.

You cant beat assembler. Right down to the basics writing to registers and hardware.

Ferret we can have an argument over camera geek next, though i think youd win purely on being able to afford better lenses than me

The languages I done at collage sucked big time, hex, Delphi, Pascal. Two years of my life wasted, I didn't learn a thing I didn't really already know and I have used none of what I learnt in my work. If anybody is thinking of doing the BTEC National Diploma course in computer studies DONT its crap.

Ha ha, I just sold the lens I used at The Welsh Open to get one twice as powerful, if you think the pics from Wales were good then you are gonna love the ones from Sheffield.

I can beat that! You whipper-snappers won't even have heard of these ...

                  - RCA Cosmac 1802 assembly (used in embedded systems)
                  - 6502 assembly (Apple II)
                  - Zilog Z80 assembly (Apple II and many other micro's as they were called then - the term PC hadn't been invented!)
                  - Motorola 6800 series and 6300 series assembly
                  - Intel 808x series assembly - IBM PC

I'd fried my brain after 15yrs of that so now, these days, I'm just a fat, old and ugly and very poor snooker player ...

                  Be warned!

Im into airshows and want a sigma 50-500mm "bigma"... But in the end purely down to a lack of funds i went for the canon 70-300 IS... Man IS is useful! Btw love your pics. Itd be great to be one of the photographers at a snooker event, i envy you!
Heres one of my pics, its one of my favourite

Arnt they all pretty similar though? There all assembly language. I know theres no standar but they tend to be similar. I'm an electornic engineer at university and particularly enjoy the embedded systems.

A 300mm IS is ideal to be honest. Tell me if you want to do a comp and I will sort it out for you. You will need a decent tripod or even better a mono pod.

Yeh i dont generally go to fairford because of the crowds. My friend was supposed to be working in the catering tent and she got to see the planes because she was there for the royal day before the main event. I go to kemble every year and this year i also went to the duxford flying legends airshow which was good although the lighting was a nightmare changing every 5 minutes.
I have a tripod and 2 monopods, all bought for airshows, none used! The tripod was too cumbersom, then about a month after i bought a decent monopod; i got my IS lens which was a revlelation to be honest! I'd love to do a tournament, problem is theyre always on around exams or coursework deadlines. I think they set them up specifically to be annoying!

yes RG you are quite right ... and they are all 8bit processors too except possibly the 8086 which if I remember correctly claimed to be 16bit but was internally an 8bit CPU with a 16bit multiplexed bus ...

                            but yes you are right

16-bit processors these days are generally programmed in c i think. i wrote assembler on the 8051 last year. Thats an 8 bit processor. 16-bit buses these days are nothing

isn't everything programmed in C these days RG? whilst I don't do it for a living anymore, I can and do write some server-side stuff (PERL or PHP) and I don't know the internal architecture of either of those languages but I always assumed they "semi-compiled" into C ...

never done any client-side stuff though in modern times ...
