Boring as it may be
I am still having (6 years now) trouble free motoring with my 12 year old Rover 75 Diesel
Does 55 to the Gallon on motorway journeys and 46 mixed driving
Dunno what I'll get when she packs up
But I dont think that day is near
Probably go for an Audi or Lexus next time round

It sure is ADR147
After a wee valet it comes close to showroom condition
Pretty amazing for a 12 year old with almost 120k on the clock
I used to love sitting watching the old war movies with my Dad, and I always loved the look and class of the old Daimlers that the officers used to drive.
When the Rover 75 came out, I thought "right I'm gonna have myself one of them"
Especially after a mechanic friend of mine informed me that underneath the shell of the diesel version is the BMW 3 series engine and rolling stock - brakes, steering the lot.
So in essence the Rovers really are a BMW 3 with a different shape body plonked on top
Last year I test drove a 2.0 litre Jag S-ype with a view to maybe changing cars, it was only 3 years old
I can honestly say that it was only the thought of changing from the comfort and smoother ride of my Rover 75 that stopped me from changing over.
I will miss her when she goes!

Just traded in my Subaru Legacy wagon. It was a good car especially in the snow but uncomfortable as hell on those long drives as it was bare bones.
Just got a Ford Escape which is their smaller SUV, 2010 LTD with low mileage and all the bells and whistles, including a V8 (not sure how many liters) but it still gets around 35m to the gallon, so not so bad. Leather seats and much more comfortable which is a prime consideration in Canada with all the long drives. Leather bucket seats with lumbar support help.
Taking it to Montreal this Friday for Alain Robidoux Invitational, 6-7hr drive depending on traffic and weather.

I don't drive as such, ive got 8 huskeys that pull me round on a sledge.
We've just built a new 25ft x 20ft igloo to accomodate our new snooker table, it will have heaters under the slates and good quality radiators on the walls to keep the cloth nice and fast.sigpic
