          • Nice to see another Civic owner on site. Low mileage on an 52 plate Jamie, good engines when looked after. Can't beat a bit of v-tec for the fun. Satin silver the best colour aswell.

Not as quick as my focus ST but ive driven a type R and that top end power delivery makes it feel quicker and its a proper laugh. Brilliant engine the VTEC and will run for ever even when its had the living daylights thrashed out of it! Just wish honda would vastly improve the overall spec of the car.

              • Got soft spot for turbo charged Fords. My friends got an orange ST which stands out a bit. Must admit I would'nt mind one of the new RS Focus's. The new Type R Civic coming out next year will be turbo charged.

Yep I love the ST to bits but no way I could go for the orange one. The RS must me the best hot hatch ever made. Would absolutely love one but it comes at a hefty price sadly. Would a turbo charged type R not completely defeat the object of the VTEC engine?! Is it still going to redline at 8K RPM+ or are they going to turn it down? I would imagine it will only a low pressure turbo like the ST which will help it out at low revs and in the midrange but sounds to me like they are messing about with a cracking little car. No doubt it will be rapid but im dubious until I go in one.

                  • The new Civic type r won't have a V-tec engine European laws about emissions have put a stop to that. Had a chat with a Honda technician at an open day for the new Civic, and he said tighter laws on cars were stopping a lot of manufacturers producing new sports cars.

                    • Well that sucks. May as well not bother calling it civic Type R any more then! So much red tape and bureaucracy in the world.

                        • I'm currently driving round in a Vauxhall VX220; it is, however, not the most practical car for carrying a snooker cue!
