  • Queen Vic Day in Canada!

    Let's face it.
Queen Victoria was one hell of an Empiratrix! (I just made up that word).
The longest ruling British monarch. Ever.
The most powerful ruler in the world, during the height of the Industrial Revolution. Whew!
But why do we celebrate her birthday (24th of May) in Canada while those in the UK do not?
My theory... modesty. The Canadian self-deprecating, inoffensive, "excuse me" consciousness identifies with the proper, straight-laced, and domineering Victorian Era which also gave us closets for gays and chairs that blushingly hid their lovely curvacious, turned legs under skirts.
Let's celebrate this holiday witha a 2 4 of Carling and admire banksy's tribute!

    Cheers!

    =o)
