  • Do you smoke?

It is getting difficult to smoke cigarette these days in whole world as you guys know.
You can not smoke in house, station, street.......

    Yes, I smoke.
    15 piece a day.

It is nice to smoke and little bit of drink when I play pool or snooker.
Of course not on the table.

Yup! Its one of my only pleasures i enjoy

When people say how unhealthy it is i just say at least ill be gone knowing my own name rather than sat in a old peoples home, not knowing who i am, where i am and dribbling down my chin at the age of 93. People are becoming too obsessed with health, and drives me mad going shopping and seeing the "label readers" who take 3 hours to shop for 10 items as they have to read the packaging. Is that not a waste of your life? Your going to go one day, so why not enjoy things.

They say each cigarette reduces your lifespan by 5 minutes. But i also read somewhere smiling increases your lifespan by 5 minute. So i like to think that if im having a smoke with a smile on my face it all balances out

Drink, smoke and play and enjoy yourself

I've decided not to smoke as i've heard a rumor it can cause lung cancer.

If we lived like that we would also have to worry about:

Dove Soap: It's 99% water, but watch out for that other 1%. It includes quaternium 15 and formaldehyde, known carcinogens, as well as irritants to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.

Johnson's Baby Shampoo: Contains carcinogens quaterium 15, FD&C RED 40, which can cause dermatitis.

Crest Tarter Control Toothpaste: This best selling toothpaste contains saccharin and phenol fluoride.

Talcum powder: Talc, the main ingredient, is a carcinogen that increases the risk of ovarian cancer. Use corn starch instead.

Cover Girl Replenishing Natural Finish Make Up (foundation): This makeup includes BHA, talc, titanium dioxide, triethanolamine. These interact with nitrites to form nitrosamines and lanolin, which is often contaminated with DDT and other carcinogenic pesticides.

Laundry Detergent: Our favorite detergent contains trisodium nitrilotriacetate, a carcinogen.

Whole milk: Certain containers contain DDT, dieldrin, heptachlor, hexachlorobenzene, recombinant bovine growth hormone and Igf-1. All of these increase the chances of getting breast, colon and prostate cancers. Look for RBGH-free organic milk.

Carpets: Some carpets are made or finished with petrolatum-based chemicals. These chemicals can "outgas" into the home. Petrolatum is believed to a human carcinogen.

This is just a few. So would you be willing to:

        Not wash
        Not clean your clothes
        Not brush your teeth
Not have Milk on cerials/tea/coffee etc
Not have carpets in your house.

And imagine the baize was somehow harmful to your health.....would you still play?

Its the people who may walk behind me if im smoking in the street who start the pathetic coughing sound. If you dont like it, walk elsewhere. (as you can tell im pro smoking )

If we took notice of each and everything that " research says" we would never get out of bed in the morning!

I do smoke, but never in the home, however a club or pub to me is the most natural place to do so, and as Dan says if you don't like it.......do one.

That being said i believe there should be no smoking in restaurants and certain sections of pubs should have no smoking areas, so maybe the likes of Wetherspoons had it right before the ridiculous "no smoking ban" came into play........so maybe I am a mixed up contradictive hypocrite

On a lighter note, I find myself rubbing my cue down with a towel more often these days than when i did smoke just for something to do between shots......Maybe if i was at the table more it would be irrelevant!!!!!
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!

what most people seem to be forgetting is that using you can use dove soap every day for a million years and not get cancer lol just because it contains carcinogens doesnt mean anything, burnt cheese on a pizza contains carcinogens

people who regularly smoke have about a 40% chance of dying from cancer, if they continue that is, i dont see its worth the risk nevermind the money, i smoked a few times then stopped

Good for you Ryan, keep thinking that way. I've never smoked but lost my parents and brother all in their 50's from directly smoking related illnesses!

                            I am a 'reformed' smoker.
Been packed in 10 years, got up to 40 a day - back in the days when you could smoke in the office during the day, and in the pub all night.

I think smokers have been harshly treated with the bans, i don't mind people smoking around me.

Definite financial benefit from packing in though, cant believe they at getting on for 6 quid a packet.

Health beneifts - not so sure - I put about 50 pounds on after packing in!!!

Haha... I also have to move when I lose the TV remote

One thing to add to your list...
                              Sugar...

It makes you fat, rots your teeth, causing all sorts of health problems, heart disease etc.

If sugar had been discovered recently we wouldn't be allowed to touch the stuff!

I don't smoke don't personally see the appeal but I don't stop anyone around me from smoking and think the whole smoking ban thing was taken waaay too far. I wouldn't encourage somebody to smoke at all, but if people make an informed choice to smoke then its up to them.
