I've smoked on and off for 20 odd years. Gave up completley for 2 years but felt there was something missing. Thesedays I've managed to cut right down to just a couple of roll-ups() a day , but can go for days without.
Best way to give up IMO is to do fitness training, take up aerobic sports like tennis, badminton, martial arts etc

yeee badminton! played badminton for YEARS until I injured my knee for one too many times. Amazing sport really, it MAKES you quit smoking because it's tough enough for your heart and lungs even if you're a non-smoker

Thanks sub... I know it was a bit long-winded... just wanted to introduce a "different" personal take on it.

Congratulations on being a Smoker Who Doesn't Smoke mate!

I dont smoke, ive tried but cant even finish one of the things, ive got nothing against smoking as long as its not harming anyone other than the smoker.

I've seen so many of my friends go from:
"i only smoke when im drinking" to
"im just finishing this pack from the weekend" to
"alright i admit it, its a strugle to go more than a few hours without a ciggy now"

my dad was a heavy smoker from about 16 till he was 55, then one day he just decided to stop and hasnt touched one since, there must of been somthing that happened that made him decide to quit so suddenly but he doesnt seem that keen to talk about it so i dont push it im just happy he quit.
It still amases me that he just gave up like he did, if you'd asked me a year before i would have bet you everything i owned that he'd never be able to quit, thats how addicted i thought he was.

LOL, ROFL!!! No wonder the chicks would stay away from hatching with me. But now that my lungs are back to work, I feel the same way as you do.....and hatching. And ah yes, the painted bodies, yuk!

I have tried and tried giving up and now i am giving up giving up because I am too grumpy without them.

Tried the patches they worked...I stuck them on my eyes and could not find my cigs in the morning..

I don't smoke. Actually, I have never even had a cig in my mouth.
                        I'm rather proud of myself.

I also tried the patchs and the chewing gum. But they do not burn too well...
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

First we tried the tapes, then we tried the patches. Someone told us to try carrot sticks as a subsitute, but we couldn't get the damn things to light."

Stopping smoking is best thing i ever did, if there is any asthma suffers out there that smoke trust me your breathing becomes 100 times better and its well worth trying to stop...i hardly use my puffer now
My wife though doesn't benefit from stopping because she says she put on weight and feels no better

                                But me i feel super
