  • R.I.P Bobby Robson

Sir Bobby Robson sadly passed away this morning, aged 76, after a long and tenacious battle against cancer. He holds a special place in English football as both the most successful national team manager since World Cup-winning Sir Alf Ramsey, and its most successful coaching export at club level.

Im sure many of you football fans or not will remember or heard of the great man. Possibly the greatest England manager ever.

Has been missed ever since Newcastle stupidly sacked him a few years ago. Most of the current Premier League managers are all clones of each other. Bobby had personality, originality and passion. A top Boss is more ways than one

Really saddened by this news today after such a long, brave and dignified battle against cancer. An absolute legend and total gentleman. People like Bobby show how badly wrong the modern game has gone!

R.I.P Bobby, you'll be sadly missed.

The best coach (by far) Sporting Clube de Portugal ever had and yet we sacked him.

A true gentleman that will surely be remember by all football fans.

Not only a great loss to football but to the world. What a great bloke, never heard anyone ever say a bad word about him. Beating cancer four times just shows what a fighter he was and he will not be forgotten by football fans.

He loved his football and had a fantastic career as player and manager. A true football man who will be missed.

                  RIP Bobby

He was head coach of England at the WC in 1990 kicking Belgium out of the tournament in the 1/8 final.

I loved the man. Even in the face of cancer (I believe he had 5 bouts of it?) he still was always sociable and never selfish. A true gentlemen for all his life, to the very end. I was watching some vids on youtube before of his lifetime achievement award by the bbc, and im not ashamed to say - I cried.

What he did to football was immense. But his spirit is beyond the written word.

                      RIP Bobby.

PS - I bet there'll be a few tears on opening day of season!
