My "Christmas" Story
A few months ago I had saved up quite a bit of pocket money and after little extra from my father my total was 200 pounds - I could get a beautiful 4-splice cue from a shop in Sheffield!
The plain ebony would be nice but I really like colourful cues so the extra 60 pounds for the splices would be worth it! Just as I was daydreaming about what kind of beautiful woods I would use I was awakened by a commercial on TV.
Africa. Children starving. Just one pound a week could save a life!
When I went to buy the cue I was really tempted by all the wonderful specimens of art on display but as I looked at them all I could see in my mind were images of those starving people dying in Africa. Here I was with more than enough of everything. What was I thinking of?!?! RIGHT! I decided to get machine-spliced Mastercue for 110 pounds (which plays quite well ) and gave my remaining pocket money away to charity.
Allah showed me the right thing to do and I hope my meagre contribution would help these people.
I chose this time for sharing my story as I know all of you would be caught up with Christmas shopping. I just thought that this post might help all of you to think a little about helping those more unfortunate than us…..
Please let me know what all of you have to say ...
