and Buy the way Brendan i have nothing against that ad apart one thing: the ad being misleading [SIZE="5"]tremendously versatile and powerful cue with the ability to play every shot in the game and that's why all the top professionals only use Parris Cues/SIZE]

cue is actually not tremendously versatile it was made to pot balls right???

cue can not be powerfull on its own !!! it cant pot balls on its own either!!!

you just like to wind up peoples dont you pal

to make thing clear regards this thread

1 . ive only started this thread coz im pis*ed off when people sell their Parris cues saying that they are the best cues in the world Bluh Bluh Bluh and every professional uses them, they would instantly make you a better player and if you buy one you will be just as good as Ronnie O'Sullivan etc. and that they are ultimate in cue craftsmanship... i say to this rubbish

there so many cuemakers out there as good as and or better then John Parris , such as Mike Wooldridge, Trevor White, Dave Coutts, Dan Shelton........... i could go on and on and on, but i wont.

                2. description of the cue is misleading don't you think???

"this is a tremendously versatile and powerful cuedefinitely it isntthe only versatility of any cue i can think of is potting balls.....or is it not STE BED, Brenda147???
with the ability to play every shot in the game. Connoisseurs of the game will appreciate the ultimate in cue craftsmanship, that's why all the top professionals only use Parris Cues."

                3. also ive started this thread with intention to have a little bit of laugh no more no less !!!
but what i received instead is a very warm welcome from some of the members telling me REMOVEDwhen in reality i never did

                4. where this negativity coming from ????

im new to this forum but so far im impressed well done to everyone.

I saw nothing wrong with the ad to be honest. I just think you may have jumped the gun a bit in terms of your assumptions or what you may have interpreted from the listing. Ultimately, the seller is trying to sell the cue.

"this is a tremendously versatile and powerful cue with the ability to play every shot in the game."
I can't see a lot wrong with this statement. He's simply commenting that the cue (obviously in the right hands) is capable of every shot in the game whereas a lesser cue may not. Nowhere does it state that you won't miss a single shot with this cue or become preofessional.

As for the ultimate craftmanship part... without examining the cue it's not something you could really prove or disprove. Even then it's a matter of opinion and perspective. It's perfectly possible that this cue is of the highest quality. It's only with the knowledge of other Parris cues not being so that you doubt this.

I understand you stance regarding the ad as it does hint at certain ideas as to what an expensive cue could do for your game - but in my opinion does not cross the line to being misleading.

Now for some calm chaps? After all, it's a gentleman's game that brings us all here in the first place.
