Pyjama-wearing mother barred from shopping at Tesco
I have never in my life seen anyone going shopping in pyjamas Even jogging bottoms are rarely seen here.
A friend from Oregon once told me though that she was surprised how well dressed people in French supermarkets were... I found that odd, but maye they also have a habit of wearing nightwear for shopping in the US
Ein jedes Werkzeug ist ein Tand in eines tumben Toren Hand.
In North America track suits while shopping are quite common and I would also have to say most Europeans are better dressed than the average North American shopper.
But I've yet to see anyone shopping in their pyjamas or better yet (if she had the figure to carry it off) in towel and flip flops, so I guess the Brits are ahead of us in the casual wear department!
I personally would not mind if someone was wearing PJ in the store I shop at, as long as they are clean and normal people. To me, they can wear whatever they wish to wear, within reason that is.
I think people who are stinky and or really dirty are 100 times worst than someone wearing clean PJ.
Having said that, if I were to go to a fine diner and find someome wearing PJ sitting on the next table that may offend me.

we had a supermrket next to our local public pool and guess what, most of the customers were wearing swim suits, shorts or bikinis. I suppose you can imagine not all of them were slim
