Don't watch airplane disaster movies before your flight then I am sure it will be all ok!

But 'Airplane' starring Leslie Nielsen would be just fine. One of the greatest comedy films ever IMO!

Die Hard 2 is also good. I remember watching it a night before my first ever transatlantic flight

No you can't tell you're high up and it's an amazing view. I suffer slightly from vertigo but never when on a plane.
You don't have to look out of the window. Pull the window blind down, plug the ear phones in, watch tv or listen to some of the music usually available and use the journey as resting time..

When and where are you travelling to?

Chewing gum definitely helps for ear popping sensation. I always chew gum on take off and landing and also chewing sweets helps too. Young children get it worse than adults.

Flying is fun. It's part of the adventure. Make the journey as enjoyable as the stay at your destination. Always lots of sights and sounds to experience on a journey and if it all bores you to tears, then read a book, or sleep.

I would rather fly somewhere than drive on a busy motorway.

Is it best to have sleep before hand because I was thinking not sleep at all the day before hand then go to sleep when on the plane and what is this thing about your ears popping also whats the chances of the plane crashing or getting turbalance cause I'm kind of worrying about it and getting fairly paranoid

Drink a few glasses of wine, close your eyes, and turn on your ipod. I do this all the times
