  • free Sat

Since freeview has become useless for snooker and other sports i had decided to get a sky subscription but i have now found out that by getting free sat i can have a choice of at least 6 sports streams for bbc i compared to freeviews 1 stream.

Does anyone know much about free sat and whether its a good investment

    thanks

You get both red buttons on freesat still, but you lose channels like Virgin 1, Dave and Five USA. Of course they are replaced with other channels but I really like Virgin 1 and Dave
Best thing would be to have both freesat and freeview.
If you buy a HD freesat box you can also watch BBC HD and ITV HD.

Do you just plug it in to the telly or do you need to get a satellite dish or cabling? I heard
on the telly yesterday that there was a FREEVIEW box going on sale this weekend which gives HD. Is this something new?

Thats why the second red button has gone from freeview. Not sure about the channels themselves I think they are planning about 3 or 4 HD channels on freeview, so you will need a HD box.
But in the long run satellite is a much better proposition for having lots of HD channels.

Freesat would require a satellite dish, if you used to have sky and the dish is still installed you could use that dish but I don't know if you would have to re align it for freesat. I imagine you would.
