i like that bit. people dont do stuff they regret just because they want something to regret about. they do it because they're stupid and dont listen to people who tell them DONT DO IT.

pamela anderson has fake boobs, that aint stopped her either, why dont you get those too not home-made though

look, you asked for an advice, you got 100% opinions against it, but we cant lock you in a room to prevent you from getting your tattoos.

but i bet you a fiver that in 10 years you will come back to this thread crying and saying that we were right

Since you're 18 now, your opinions are very likelly to change A LOT in the next few years.. all the way during study time and then after you will have tried employment for a few years (so say study for 3-4 years + 2-3 years to see what happens to you in case you stay for a while in a 'stable' job; well, if you do ).
If you think "office job" is likelly, then listen to your mom. But if you plan to be an artist or someone who woudn't need to care of making a good impression to general public/customer, then... well but such ways of earning money might not work out, and you still might need to resort to employer's mercy to hire you or not

Because of this (too likelly change in opinions soon) if you're really feel like doing a tatoo, better first try something rather small and innocent somewhere where it's easy to cover, and see how do you like it.

Maybe you want to "stand out" at the very moment, and maybe you should actually try that in some way, just not to waste your good years for not-crazy-enough stuff. And then, do you think you'd like to be considered as a 'skinhead' or someone of the kind like for the rest of your life? Should be some other ways to "stand out", just take a look around...

I don't know about tatoos much in general (I guess they are less common here; and here employer & general public 'd be way less tolerant to it), but home-made thing could be somewhat risky to your health, eg skin/blood poisoning and such.

By the way, there should be such a thing as "temporary tatoos", lasting for I'm not sure how long... a few years? Anyone knows more? Maybe that's the solution to snookerfan91's face!
