Langeveldt to Tendulkar, 1 run, 84.5 mph, full toss on middle, punches it towards wide long-on for a single, reaches 199, Dhoni doesn't want the second, and he's right

Langeveldt to Tendulkar, no run, 85.0 mph, and defends! Lands on a good length and presents the full face as he respectfully plays it back to the bowler

    He's on 198 now
    Wow wow wow!

Yep quite amazing. Bet there a few riots kicking off in India! Do you remember that game against Australia when SA chased down 420?! Surely couldn't happen again.

Equivalent in snooker is something like a 150 break at the Crucible.

Tendulkar is simply the greatest batsmen the game has ever seen and i will go blue in the face in support of this statement.

Don bradman is the only one who can come up in debate of this but he didnt spend his career facing the likes of warne, murilitharan, walsh, ambrose, donald, akram, mcgrath, younis and lee

the man continues to set the standard well into his 30's, i hate the word but quite simply....

                  he's GENIUS

Amazing from the little master. Dhoni tried his best to steal the limelight but it was all about one man! Take a bow Sachin

I think Lara was better. He'd be number 2 behind Bradman. Not too many sports where the big debate is about who's number 2 because nobody argues about number 1.

Sachin Tendulkar is the ultimate genius in the cricketing world!
None compare to him perhaps. And this double century befitting sure befits his glittering 20 year career. And he got another record in his innings yesterday. For the maximum number of 'four's hit.He hit 25 fours in his innings which is also a record!

I Agree. Lara would always be a better batmans when on form. I don't think any batman could quite compare to Lara when on form. Sachin achievements past and present are phenominal but Lara for the better part of his career had to come in at 20/2 or 40/3 and then build an innings. All things considered I still think the innings by Herschelle Gibbs in the 434-438 game was something else when you consider that he got out for 175 of 119 balls in the 31st over. He could have gone on to 250 in that game. Even Ricky Ponting made 164 from the 16th to 46th over in that game. I don't think that record is going to stand too long though not the way the likes of Dilshan and Sehwag play. right day and right pitch that record is going to Fall. But 200 up for a legend in the game and he desrved it the way he batted
