Jimmy White and Alex Higgins were playing an exhibition one time and i was away competing on the day. The guy who brought them over took me to the hotel to meet Jimmy and then to the resturant to meet Alex. I got a picture signed by the two of them and spent half an hour talking with Jimmy in the hotel. I also had the privelidge of meeting Paul Hunter in 2004 not long before he died. He was over doing an exhibition with Stephen Lee and Willie Thorne was the MC. Good memories.

... this is exactly what he said - he said he was sitting at the table in the kitchen, all by himself, drinking a glass of ginger ale and eating saltines and reading 'Dombey and Son', and all of a sudden Jesus sat down in the other chair and asked if he could have a small glass of ginger ale. A small glass, mind you - that's exactly what he said. I mean he says things like that, and yet he thinks he's perfectly qualified to give me a lot of advice and stuff! I could just spit! I could! It's like being in a lunatic asylum and having another patient all dressed up as a doctor come over to you and start taking your pulse or something . . ."

          - Franny to Zooey (posing as Buddy) as told by J.D. Salinger

Noel took a sip and laughed out loud.

          =o)

I've refereed and otherwise met a lot of snooker players over the years, but outside snooker I've met quite a few too. I had the great pleasure of being introduced to the wonderful late Maggie Jones (Blanche Hunt from Corrie), (and Jimmi Harkishin - Dev Alahan, but that wasn't quite so exciting). I've met numerous presenters from national and local radio and have met Jeremy Kyle and Terry Christian many many times. Also met Noddy Holder a couple of times, including a group singalong of Merry Xmas Everybody with him at the wedding of one of the above!

The fittest famous person I've met is Jennifer Ellison who used to be in Brookside.... I've met most pro snooker players and being on the pool tours I've obviously met a lot of pro pool players.
