    Room keys and days countdown

So here I am on my first night in Plymouth.

I am staying in the uni student accommodation, and although my room number is 432, my key number - would you believe - is 147!

I also happened to notice that there are 147 days left this year!

    Hope you're all well.

Statman, what part of Plymouth are you staying in. I have to say it is the greatest city on earth.

I went to Plymouth last week Was fun
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

I was staying in the uni accommodation, in G[somthing] Street. Gilbey, maybe, or Gibbon.

There was a slight trace of the 147 haing had a label stuck over it, perhaps when they changed numbers or something. Staying here again tonight, having had three intervening nights in Cornwall.

Went to the Isles of Scilly yesterday, and bought a lottery licket which appeared last night to have won £10, but when I went to collect my winnings the lady pointed out that I'd done it for Saturday not Wednesday - so we'll have to wait and see!

Well if you matched 3 numbers at your first attempt, simple arithmetic guarantees you will have matched 6 numbers with that same ticket at your second - so I'm sure you'll have a good Saturday evening!

PS When she pointed it out, did you feel very scilly?

No, no, I meant that it was a Saturday ticket and NOT a Wednesday ticket. Simple arithmetic only confirms that I am a complete idiot!

Yes, I had understood, Statman, that it was a Saturday ticket and not a Wednesday ticket. I was merely trying to give you a bit of hope - having missed out on the £10 you had thought you had won, you may yet find you have won more when Saturday's numbers come up.

Handy hint: if you find, come Saturday night, that you have matched the first 3 numbers, and also matched the second 3 numbers, do not accept any kind offers of £20 from kind ladies to buy your ticket for the value of the two £10 prizes that you may think you have won.

PS Will you be returning in time for the snooker that kicks off on Sunday, or watching it from Plymouth?
