Pool table in the garden?

Noticed, there are lots of us online and not talking, maybe I could get some thoughts on whether it would be not too absolutely crazy thinking about putting a pool table on the veranda in the garden.
Would be our only shot at owning a cue sport table- there is just no extra space in the house for table as well as cue range.
We just came back from our vacation, where we had access to pool tables and although they were quite crappy (little kids got on as well) it was still good fun for the whole family.
They apparently sell some cheaper wooden 7 ft tables here and advertise them as being robust enough for outside use (I guess they should be covered at least)

There was a tv show I used to watch called "The Drew Carey Show" - not sure if any of you know who Drew Carey is...

Anyway, he had a pool table outside and regardless of the season, he would go out and play a round - funny idea, but not crazy I would love to have an area outside I could play on.

I see your location is Israel, so your climate will be a whole lot drier and warmer than it is in the Uk. In the Uk it would be impossible to do this, due to the usual constant dampness and storms. It would some become a soggy mouldy mess. A damp table would be a nightmare. It may not be that crazy for you guys over there though.

I would at least make some sort of sheleter for it though when its not in use - overnight or over winter - at least a tarpaulin or canvas or something though - otherwise you could get god knows what creatures nesting in the pockets or crawling all over it.

I would be careful about what table you buy, as a wooden one could easily warp in the sun. I think that would be the main problem, especially in hot weather that the tables flatness would not take long to disappear.

Shelter would certainly be important for it.

Still, overall, should be fun and an excellent way to enjoy an evening with a few games and a couple of cold ones.

I used to put mine out in the summer. But now we got rid of our gazebo and the table, I don't!

Was good fun.

My cousin currently lives in Vietnam, I went to visit him a few years ago and he had a pool table outside, and so did a few of his neighbours.

btw. we are working on the pergola right now... not sure if we can fit the 7 foot table though (have 3+( the + by standing on the gras already) by x 4 meter roughly)
