Italy will defend the title. Spain is favorite at the bookies, but i can't see them past last 16. Argentina is a team to be feared of, but with Maradona in charge......

That won't be my preference though, but I'm not too bothered.
Do you not give Slovenia much of a chance then?

I think England will win it because Capello is an amazing coach, and it's been a while since 1966
Argentina has a strong team but no coach....I think Spain or Germany will win it."There has only ever been Alex Higgins, myself and now Ronnie O'sullivan who play the game the way it should be played with such excitement - I know the fans love it this way" - Jimmy White

The group stage could be interesting though. England is obviously the big favourite, but USA and Algeria are not that impressive.

I have watched Serbia-Cameroon (4-3) and must say that neither team looked good. Serbian goalkeeper is just awful. And I just dont know how we managed to beat Cameroon as they were better team. I really believe that England are strong favorites because of Capello and if you look other teams they can go all the way. For me other contenders are Spain,Brazil and Argentina(because everyone are saying that Maradona is worst coach ever etc)...You cannot improve your game if you don't have a cue and snooker table

England are utter crud nowadays , no defence ,average midfield, and a bit part attack.
The only chance England had of winning the world cup was if they had their two world class players in ...Becks/Owen...,without those two the team lacks any sort of plan, I think Capello has took the team back years......(was a better team under the much maligned Swen) Tho he seems to be a well lucky manager....so who knows ?

Saying this I don't want to **** off anyone who wants Germany to win as well as anyone in England who wants his team to win etc.
I'll watch the World Cup though, but I just hope to see some good soccer. Bought a Ghana jersey (wanted to get a england or northkorean one but there were none) and just hope to annoy as much intolerant people as I can.
And another reason I wouldn't want to see the german squad winning anything: Most players are from Bayern Munich. I'm not a fan of Bayern Munich, so why should I want to see them win?
Woher kommen sie?
:snooker:
(sie -> Sie)
Aus Deutschland. But I was born there accidentally, I don't see any sense in just blindly praising men who accidentally have the same nationality. Plus there is no real reason to favor Germany - "our" Snooker players are bad :snooker:Last edited by kokokol; 9 June 2010, 06:14 PM.

i would like england to win. but knowing that no european team has won outside europe...i would think its gonna be an underdog.
looking at the groups, i'd say they would make it quarter finals
ivory coast springs into my mind... but given their group, its unlikely (but i would like to think of it like the snooker world champs, if u beat ronnie, u got every chance of winning the tournament)
i would support the underdog teams.
it would really do wonders for south africa and the entire continent if a team from the region were to win. imagine the political and economic progress.See new updates: http://cueporn.tumblr.com/

I´m keeping up to the statistics, so Brazil for me. My dream final would be Brazil - Spain.
If my nationalteam gets to the last 16, it´s as good as it gets. I hope for more, but can´t see it happening as too many players are injured.Last edited by Rane; 10 June 2010, 07:29 PM. Reason: can or can´t makes a slight difference in the meaning.....its not called potting its called snooker. Quote: WildJONESEYE
