Oh it's nice if the summer is not too hot - but then again, your winters are too cold, so I don't envy you!
You guessed right, I stay indoors as much as possible, last night I was out at a bar on a terrace, still I was suffocating and couldn't wait to get back home (social life ruined by the heat, at least I'm original!! )

The sprinklers sound fantastic Sf, only trouble is you can't have sprinklers if you don't have a garden, can you?

PS: just heard the weather forecast, 43 or 44 in Athens tomorrow!!!

We have sth like 42 or 43C in Athens today, in another town in Greece they had 46C!! I am told in other countries this is not unusual, but those places surely do not suffer from air pollution like we do... 4 people have died within the last 2 days, and the heatwave won't subside till the weekend!

Perfect indeed! I heard on the news tonight that the temperature in Athens reached 49C at some point today, the record temperature for any city in the world!!

Congrats, Lin. Have to get a job as well for the summer. Will start looking over the weekend. I had my last exam today. Went really well. It was an oral exam where they judged our accent and pronunciation. Actually, the aim of the course was to acquire a proper RP British English accent but I told my teacher straight away that I'm not getting rid of my South African variety. He said I should try, I told him I won't because I like it and I don't see the point of sounding like the Queen (sorry, if I offended anyone). Luckily, my co-examiner loved my accent and I got a B (and it's bloody hard to get a B, about 60% of the students usually fail and the others barely get Cs *braaaag*). Right, one more seminar paper to write and then it's 3 months of summer holidays!!! YAY!!!

We used to have to have a British English accent aswell but because of the big influence from the US also, we can speak what they call "mid atlantic" english. So as long as we don't have a strong danish accent it's not really important whether we speak with English, American, Irish or whatever accent
